# Tooltips

Items enchanted with Excellent Enchants can display a packet-based, client-side description in their tooltips, providing a summary of custom enchantments.

You can toggle this feature in config.yml -> Modules -> EnchantTooltip.

This feature requires either PacketEvents or ProtocolLib to be installed on the server.

Descriptions are not shown in Creative mode because the server treats tooltip descriptions as real item data, which would cause the descriptions to be permanently applied and duplicated.
