# Getting Started

Installing nightcore is quick and simple!

Ensure that your server is compatible.
Stop the server if it's running.
Download and place the nightcore.jar in the /plugins/ directory.
Run the server.

On first install, nightcore will try to download lang assets for your system language into /nightcore/lang/ directory:

Files with messages_ prefix contains translations for plugin's messages. Some of nightcore messages are shared with nightcore plugins.
Files with assets_ prefix contains translations for in-game objects, such as blocks, items. They are used in a lot of nightcore plugins.

If you need to update your assets files, delete them from the /lang/ directory or download them manually.

If you have console warn saying Could not download language assets for, then there is no assets for your language or there is some issues with your internet connection.

You can download them manually from Github

PlugMan

Do not use PlugMan to install, reload or uninstall the nightcore under any circumstances!

Folia Servers

We don't plan to support multi-threaded software, such as Folia and MultiPaper unless it becomes a new standard someday.

Modded Servers

Modded software, such as Arclight, Mohist, Forge, Fabric are not supported and never be.
